The typical Temple Terrace bathroom we see

Most Temple Terrace homes were built between the 1950s and 1970s, and their bathrooms show it. A common setup is two baths off a single hallway: a hall bath with a tub-shower combo and a small primary bath with a stall shower barely wide enough to turn around in. Original tile, pastel fixtures, and a single small window instead of an exhaust fan are all common.

In the older 1920s homes of the historic core, baths are often tucked into spaces that were reworked over the years, sometimes more than once. Those projects take more investigation before we price them.

Three projects that fit these homes

We find most Temple Terrace bathroom requests fall into one of three patterns. Each has a different scope, so we sketch the options during your free estimate.

  • Hall bath refresh: new tub or shower surround, vanity, toilet, lighting and a properly vented exhaust fan, keeping the existing layout
  • Primary bath expansion: borrowing space from a closet to fit a larger walk-in shower and a double vanity
  • Accessible bath: a low-threshold or curbless walk-in shower with blocking for grab bars, a bench and a handheld spray

Why ventilation and waterproofing matter here

Older ranch bathrooms often relied on a window for ventilation. In Tampa Bay humidity, that is not enough, and you can usually see it in stained ceilings and tired grout. We add a ducted exhaust fan vented outside, not into the attic.

Behind new tile, we install a continuous waterproofing membrane on shower walls and pans. It is the part of the job you never see, and the part that decides how long the bathroom lasts.

Permits with the City of Temple Terrace

Because Temple Terrace runs its own building department, bathroom permits for homes inside city limits go to the city rather than Hillsborough County. Work that moves plumbing, adds circuits or changes walls generally needs a permit. Some nearby addresses with a Temple Terrace mailing address are actually under county jurisdiction, so we confirm by parcel. Florida has recently changed some permit exemptions for small projects, so check current rules with the building department before you skip a permit.

Our office in Town 'n' Country is about 11.8 miles from Temple Terrace. One project manager runs your job from demo through final inspection. Our bathroom remodel cost guide explains what drives the budget.

Permits for Temple Terrace projects

Temple Terrace has its own building department, so permits for remodels inside city limits go through the City of Temple Terrace rather than Hillsborough County or the City of Tampa. Some addresses with a Temple Terrace mailing address are actually in unincorporated Hillsborough County, so we confirm jurisdiction by parcel. We pull permits and schedule inspections as your licensed contractor, but always confirm current requirements with the building department.

Absolutely incredible transformation! We recently had our bathroom remodeled by Green Home Remodeling, and the results exceeded our expectations! What was once an outdated bathroom is now a beautiful, modern space that looks like something out of a magazine. A huge thank you to Adam, our project manager, for his professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication throughout the project. The beautiful marble-look tile, gold finishes, custom shower, and quality craftsmanship made this bathroom truly special. We couldn’t be happier with the final result and highly recommend Green Home Remodeling, especially Adam!

We had a great experience with Dean from Green Home Remodeling. He did our kitchen and master bathroom, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Dean was easy to work with, always communicated with us, and the price was very reasonable. He did a great job and made the whole process much easier. We would definitely recommend him!

July 2026 · St. Petersburg

Green Construction built a new pool bathroom for us to compliment the new pool we are having built in St. Petersburg Florida. While a small project, an addition to the rear of the home, it still required all the requisite sub- contractors - foundation, framing, walls, roof, plumbing, electric, mechanical, paint, tile and cabinets. The cost was very competitive and fair. Dean managed the project and was fantastic -he communicated constantly with us, coordinated with his sub- contractors efficiently, dealt with St Pete inspectors professionally, and also coordinated with our pool contractor ensuring the bathroom addition was done on time, and it did not interfere with the separate pool construction project. The addition was done so seamlessly that you would never know there was an addition to the home. Dean is very personable , friendly and accommodating. We met each other for the first time at tye pre- construction meeting - strangers at first we have become friends. That is not typically to become friends with your contractor - and I think it speaks volumes about him and Green Construction I highly recommend Green Construction and specifically working with Dean !

FAQ

Bathroom Remodeling in Temple Terrace: FAQ

Have a question we did not answer? Call (813) 536-3976 and talk to a project manager.

Can you convert a tub to a shower in a Temple Terrace ranch?

Yes, and it is one of the most common requests. In slab homes, we may need to cut the concrete to relocate or resize the drain, which we plan and price up front.

Do you keep original tile in older bathrooms?

Sometimes owners want to keep vintage tile or terrazzo. We look at its condition and what sits under it during the estimate and tell you honestly whether keeping it makes sense.

What affects the cost of a Temple Terrace bathroom remodel?

The biggest factors are whether the layout changes, how much plumbing moves through the slab, what demolition uncovers in an older home, and your tile and fixture choices. A free estimate gives you a written, line-item proposal so you can see where the budget goes.
